S'well Drink Bottles FAQ

August 14, 2012 By Lime Tree Kids Product FAQ's comments
Do S’well bottles have BPA or a liner inside the bottle?
No way! S’well bottles are made of the highest quality stainless steel (18/8). Because stainless steel is safe, the bottles don’t need to be coated with a plastic liner as many aluminum bottles are. And better yet, stainless steel means that there is no metal taste to your water.

How long do beverages stay hot and cold in a S’well bottle?
For a very long time. We like to say liquids stay cold 24 hours and hot for 12. But truth be told, the ThermaS’well™ technology keeps beverages cool or hot even longer than that. It really depends on a number of factors, such as the exterior temperature, the type of drink inside and even the color of your S’well bottle. That’s science for you! Take the S’well challenge yourself, we are confident you will be impressed.

Is my S'well bottle dishwasher-safe?

No, S'well bottles are not dishwasher safe. The ThermaS'well™ technology can be compromised and the vacuum seal may fail. Also, the color wrap may become damaged due to dishwasher use. See the "How do I clean my S'well" FAQ for more use/care instructions. S'wells are happiest when hand-washed and air-dried.

Is my S'well bottle freezer-safe?

No, S'well Bottles are not freezer-safe. S'well Bottles are so well insulated, the ThermaS'well Technology TM doesn't allow the cold (or hot) to penetrate. Even putting your S'well Bottle in the freezer for a short period of time can affect the insulation from expansion. So please don't freeze a S'well Bottle; if you like your drinks really cold, just add ice. Note the opening of the S'well bottle was designed to fit standard ice cubes (it's 1-3/8" wide).

Will my S’well bottle sweat?
No. That’s the beauty of insulation. Your hands stay dry, as does your desk, the inside of your bag and everything else that comes in contact with your S’well bottle.
